Annual Meeting 2016

Annual Club Meeting on April 3rd

Please mark the date for our club’s annual meeting on Sunday, April 3, 2016. The meeting will take place beginning at 2 PM at the Sylvester Powell Community Center in Mission, Kansas. It will be potluck and we ask that members and guests bring food based on the guidelines mentioned below. The business part of our meeting will include the current financial status of the club, upcoming programs, and the election of officers. You can mail your ballot to the address on the newsletter or bring it to the meeting.

Our program this year should be valuable to anyone interested in researching their family history. Member Iveta Blahut is a genealogy specialist with the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence, MO. She will make a presentation that should be of great help to both beginners and accomplished researchers on uncovering details about your ancestors and family history. The Midwest Genealogy Center has many sources of information available, and Iveta will be happy to introduce you to those sources that would be of most interest to those of us with a Czech or Slovak background. Her program will take about 20-30 minutes and she will be available for individual assistance as well after that.

For the children, there will also be a table for egg decorating.

Please RSVP to Terry Smitka if you are planning to attend the meeting. Terry can be contacted at tsmitka@rwbaird.com or 816 217-9487.
