Upcoming Events

Dear Club Member,

Our club has several noteworthy events coming up over the next couple of months. Please add to your calendar and we really hope you can attend.

Friday, September 11 – Everyone should have received an email about the visit of Czech Ambassador Gandalovic and Slovak Ambassador Kmec. To make it possible for members to meet the ambassadors, the club will be sponsoring a reception beginning at 5:30 PM at Unity Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City. Appetizers and drinks will be provided and there is no cost. The reception will be followed by a violin concert beginning at 7 PM by renowned Slovak violinist Filip Pogady. Visits by the ambassadors are very infrequent so we highly encourage you to attend and get a firsthand update on what is happening in the Republics. Please let us know if you are coming by responding to this email or the evite invitation you received earlier. Pogady concert tickets are $10/person and can be purchased at the door or online. Guests are welcome.
Saturday, September 26 – Bring your lawn chairs, side dish, and adult beverages to the Czech and Slovak Club annual picnic. Join with fellow club members and guests as we enjoy an afternoon/evening of good food, drinks, music, and our common culture. Hope to see you there!
